We’re incredibly excited to share the launch of OurTV, a free digital satellite TV service that’s truly made for Nigerians, by Nigerians! This groundbreaking service is the result of a powerful partnership between Trefoil Networks and the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NigComSat).

For us at OurTV, this launch represents the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. Our journey with NigComSat started in 2015 and has culminated into what we are all proud of and to be associated with.

What makes OurTV so unique? It’s a completely Nigerian product and service, from the aggregation of content to its transmission on the Nigerian satellite. “OurTV is unique in so many ways,” Amasiani emphasized. “It is Nigeria, is aggregated in Nigeria and transmitting in Nigerian satellite, is being received on Nigerian decoder made in Nigeria and is for Nigerians.”

Our Head of Business Development, Braider Sayaba, highlighted OurTV’s technical advancements, describing it as “the first and only H265 DTH Satellite TV Platform in Africa.” OurTV offers a hybrid platform with free-to-view channels, PVR capabilities, and IP connectivity for YouTube and other OTT services.

“Our customers get our exclusive channels, without monthly subscription. All they need to do is to buy OurTV decoder, which costs N11,900 and start watching. Our TV is unique and is the definition of local content. Home grown content, aggregated by Nigerians, transmitting on a Nigerian Satellite, and being received with decoders made in Nigeria,” Sayaba explained.

We’ve carefully curated a diverse channel lineup, including OurMovies Nolly, OurKidies, OurMusic, AIT, Aljazeera, and many more, ensuring there’s something for everyone in the family.

Abimbola Alale, Managing Director of NigComSat, represented by Adamu Idris, General Manager, Corporate Affairs, congratulated us on the launch, emphasizing the indigenous nature of OurTV. “They came here to utilise our satellite, controlled 100% by Nigerians,” Idris stated. “We are happy indeed here in NigComSat, we see them as potential client in using the NigComSat1R, which is made here for Nigeria.”
